A Remembrance Day Tribute
*In Honour Of All Those Who Fought For Our Great Country*
The eleventh hour of the eleventh day
On that eleventh month of old,
The First World War at once did cease
Or so the story is told.
They signed an agreement
To end it once and for all.
But not before
Many people did fall.
Our comrades are gone.
Taken down without warning.
Long before,
They signed on that morning.
Some of them gave up their lives,
And some of them were taken.
But never shall we forget them
Lest they be forsaken.
Not all who fought
Died in the war.
Some of them lived
Through all the blood and the gore.
Now they tell tales
Of the brave and the bold.
To all who will listen,
both the young and the old.
We must listen them
and trust what they say.
They endured all the pain
so we wouldn’t some day.
So this is my tribute
to soldiers one and all,
who gave up their lives
The greatest gift of all.
