Wildcats with Brooms March ‘09

A few weeks ago, I approached curling from a different perspective, not as one trying to throw rocks at houses, but as a photographer. The spots filled up quickly as we had 6 teams using 3 of the sheets of ice. We had EBC students, EBC Alumni, and as well as friends of EBC Alumni. This led to a time of listening, watching and taking pictures of the events happening before me, which overall was a lot of fun.

Some of the highlights on this Saturday night was probably listening to “Team – Team” and their cheer to “Do less worse” or it also could have been the amount of people who either posed or squirmed when they suddenly realized they were the subject to the next picture. To quote Stephanie Vincent “Looking good and curling… how do I do that?” One of the most impressive moments was seeing Jessie Goulet’s team which was losing 5 nothing going into the last end, score 4 points in a single end to finish the game with a more respectable loss of 4 to 5. The teams were also quite well matched up as almost every team each lost and one a game, other than Joas Swartzentruber, who won both of their games.  Overall, it was an entertaining night and I was quite happy not to have all the sore limbs the following day that some people had due to actually having to curl.
