Welcome to The Voice of Emmanuel Bible College! This is the first issue out of six that will be published this semester. You will notice there are a few sections for which there were no articles written. This is because the first issue was intended to be an introduction to the Student Leadership Team, and therefore the SLT were the primary contributors.

Announcements:
- Don’t forget to register for the upcoming fall retreat to Sherkston Shores which takes place THIS Friday to Sunday (Sept 22-24). It will be a weekend full of activities, fun and fellowship. The cost is $65. Contact Taryn Wiley or Sarah Graham for details.

- Need to be spiritually refreshed? Do you enjoy worshipping with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ? Come out to PJs and Praise every Tuesday night at 10:00 PM in the Common Lounge.

- The first Coffee House of the year will take place next week on Wednesday, Sept 27th at 7:00 PM in the chapel. If you wish to share a talent (instrument, dance, skit etc.), talk to Tabitha Rozeluk.

- If you are a first year and still looking for a home church to attend church regularly, PLEASE don’t hesitate to ask around. Getting plugged into a local church is vital to your spiritual growth and battle against the enemy. There are plenty of returning students who would love to bring you along on Sundays. Look around, find one you like, and stick with it!

- Have you found a place to get involved yet? There is always room for more on the committees. If you are interested in writing for The Voice, here are some guidelines:

• Formal Submissions: Write an article (750 words), poem (300 words), devotional (300 words), or review (500 words). You do not need to be part of the committee to do this.
• Informal Submissions: Write a commentary (letter to the editor, opinion, comments etc.)(300 words). Volunteer for the Voice on the Street. Ask Brittany for some advice.
• Let us know what you think so far. Stop Rachel on campus or email voiceofebc@gmail.com and tell us your opinion.
• Join the committee. We meet the Tuesday after publication at lunch in the Student Council office. This is where assignments are handed out, we discuss what we did and didn’t like about the previous issue and what can be worked on for future issues. No experience necessary!
• The Assistant Editor position is still waiting to be filled. He/she must be returning for at least two [2] more years and be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Application forms can be downloaded at www.ebcollege.on.ca under the Newspaper section. You can also email voiceofebc@gmail.com or talk to Rachel Neumeister.
• Submissions are due the Friday before publication at 5:00PM. The next deadline is Friday September 29th at 5:00PM.
