MTF Committee

The Missions Task Force encourages global awareness, intercultural experiences and the support of workers in mission around the world.  Field Education credit is available to anyone who wants to give leadership in any aspect of MTF.  But you need to act soon…the deadline to commence Field Education for this semester is Fri. Sept. 19.  What’s possible?  Organizing prayer meetings, chapels, fundraisers, outings… see Janice Anderson for more details.

For current prayer concerns, check Mission Network News on the web. Join for global prayer and planning, Tuesdays over the lunch hour in the F.C. Peters room in the library.

Missions week Oct. 6-10 will provide a variety of speakers and guests from many mission agencies on campus.

Wed. Oct. 15 a trip is planned to a local Hindu temple, leaving from the Sherk lounge at 12:30 p.m.  The swami wrote to us: “We will be looking forward to receive your group from 1-2 pm. We are having some rules and regulations for this visit. No short skirts or shorts, decent well covered clothing. No food or drinks inside the prayer hall and also no chewing gum. All visitors will have to take their shoes off and wash their hands before entering the prayer hall. Taking pictures of the Deities is not allowed. And of course we expect a respectful behaviour.”

Wed. Oct. 15, a dessert fellowship with Helmut and Tina Markeli (OMS, Indonesia, now Western representatives based in Edmonton) and Gerald Brulotte, our missionary-in-residence, will have a question and answer time in the Sherk lounge beginning at 6:00 p.m.
